Pascual Pharma Corp. carries on with Project Bayanihan as we stand in solidarity with our Filipino frontliners waging war against COVID-19. Two thousand five hundred (2,500) additional personal protective equipment have been distributed by PPC to 62 medical facilities all over Metro Manila and Luzon from May 2020 to June 2020 with a total of 4,000 bunny suits supplied in the last four months.
The second wave of the PPC Project Bayanihan extends special care to community-based healthcare providers who face the daily risk of SARS-CoV-2 local transmission during the general community quarantine.
Maraming salamat po sa inyong patuloy na paglilingkod sa ating bayan!
All levels of learning have been disrupted by COVID-19 in different parts of the world. As an accredited training provider, it is our obligation to encourage the continuity of learning among Filipino physicians during the lockdown to keep up with the demands of patient care while pursuing professional development.
Standing in solidarity with the stakeholders of higher education, the PPC Academy launched CMEx, a continuing medical education program that connects Filipino healthcare professionals globally through online courses provided by the Harvard University. The PPC Academy also initiated PRC-accredited webinars and virtual roundtable discussions on specialty topics such as lifestyle medicine and up-to-date management of kidney stones, hypertension, and chronic respiratory diseases.
As of October 2020, the online continuing medical education program of Pascual Pharma Corp. has reached 1,300 doctors nationwide.
Pascual Pharma Corp (PPC) started with a vision, grounded on genuine passion for “building lifetime care for Filipino patients”. Our journey is built on a legacy of care and compassion and we are an organization built on the promise of providing the highest quality healthcare products to people who need them.
PPC is a company committed to developing medical solutions that are accessible to patients. We utilize world-class research and development tools to ensure the efficacy, safety and compliance of our products. Pascual Pharma Corp. is fully committed to its roles and responsibilities in the health industry and continues to pursue excellence in pharmaceutical sales and marketing. Patient-oriented values embody the very core of the company. PPC is passionate on its found purpose of creating hope and continuously improving patient lives each day.
As we forge into the future, here is a quick look at PPC’s history:
PPC’s founders are second and third generation descendants of Isosceles and Leonora Pascual, both Chemistry graduates from the University of the Philippines, who in 1946, founded Pascual Laboratories, Inc. (PLI) in a single-room laboratory in Manila to formulate and manufacture vitamins and medicines needed in the country after World War II. Their pioneering work and vision is a foundation stone of PPC.
With the spread of COVID-19, PPC joins the fight to enhance public health and safety through its “Project Bayanihan” efforts. The company donated some 1,500 personal protective equipment and another 2,500 personal care packages to support medical front line workers in various hospitals in Metro Manila to aid in relief efforts to combat the spread of SARS-CoV-2.
Furthermore, to encourage the continuity of learning among Filipino physicians during the community quarantines, PPC Academy launched CMEx, a continuing medical education program that connects Filipino healthcare professionals globally through online courses provided by Harvard University. PPC Academy also launched PRC-accredited webinars and virtual roundtable discussions on a variety of medical topics. The online CME program has reached more than 1,300 doctors nationwide in less than a year.
Pascual Pharma Corp. is accredited by the Professional Regulation Commission – Board of Medicine as a local continuing professional development (CPD) provider. Driven by its passion for excellence, the company established the PPC Academy, which is the enhanced Continuing Medical Education arm of PPC. By partnering with doctors and medical specialty groups, PPC Academy aims to provide relevant and up-to-date, local and international training and education
We established our CoreLab in partnership with the UP Los Baños Science and Technology Park – Center for Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship. CoreLab is an open innovation laboratory that aims to serve as an incubation hub in collaboration with academia, healthcare research organizations, and government institutions. Through PPC’s “Partner with Us” campaign, the CoreLab explores collaborative work with academic institutions throughout the Philippines. With the aid of various grants, it supports research on various projects; one includes developing cost-effective field quality control test kits and a mobile app for the medicinal plant industry. It aims to develop post-proof of concept Phase I ready natural product extracts that address metabolic syndrome and tropical diseases.
PPC is granted full accreditation as a training provider of medical representatives by the Professional Regulation Commission Board of Pharmacy and has since been holding the Salesforce Work Module Adeptness Training twice a year.
PPC was split-off from Pascual Laboratories, Inc. and became a non-affiliated, independent and separate entity. Since then, the company continued to grow and our MD franchise comprised of more than 6,000 medical practitioners and specialists in various fields, including: Internal Medicine; Family Medicine; General Practice; Cardiology; Urology; Nephrology; Neurology; Pulmonology; and others.
The Pharmacare Division of PLI was officially registered as its own distinct company, and was incorporated as Pascual Pharma Corp. (PPC).
Re-Leaf, a Sambong-based anti-urolithiasis drug and PPC’s pioneering herbal product, was awarded a silver medal at the 25th International Exhibition of Inventions, New Techniques and Products in Geneva, Switzerland.
PLI carved a niche in the biopharmaceutical industry via traditional herbal medicine in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the University of the Philippines (UP) National Integrated Research Program on Medicinal Plants.
